Maldah (Uttar), Maldah (Dakshin) polling: Parties blame each other for Malpractices
Barring stray incidents, the second phase of polling to two Lok Sabha constituencies went off peacefully today.
Over 61 per cent voting was recorded in the second phase of Lok Sabha polling held in 13 constituencies of Rajasthan on Friday. As much as 61.13 per cent out of 2.80 crore voters cast their votes, said an official.
In 12 constituencies, the average percentage of voting was 57.88 per cent which was 6.15 per cent less than the previous LS polls of 2019 (64.02 pc) and 3.79 pc low of 2014 (61.66 pc).
Barmer recorded 70.31 per cent voting followed by Banswara 69.97 per cent, Jhalawar 67.71 per cent, Kota 66.58 per cent, Chittorgarh 64.43 per cent, Udaipur 62.06 per cent, Jodhpur 61.42 per cent, Jalore 60.30 per cent, Bhilwara 56.60 per cent, Pali 55.65 per cent, Rajsamand 55.20 per cent, Ajmer 53.47 per cent, and Tonk-Sawaimadhopur 52.97 per cent. These figures may go up till the final tabulation of voters turnout would be available till midnight.

The fate of 152 contestants including Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, two Union Ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Kailash Choudhary, four sitting MPs and seven women was sealed in EVMs on Friday.
The voting commenced at 28,758 polling booths at 7 am in 13 LS seats. Heatwave and dust storm conditions in parts of some constituencies in western regions hit the voters’ turnout from 1 pm to 4:30 pm.
Four sitting MPs PP Choudhary, Bhagirath Choudhary, Dushyant Singh, SS Jaunapuria, and State BJP President CP Joshi, and Congress’ former assembly Speaker Dr C P Joshi, sitting MLA Harish Meena, and Vaibhav Gehlot, son of former Congress Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot from Jalore seat also contested the election.
